Welcome!

The Friends of Delapré Abbey in Northampton are committed to protecting, preserving, restoring and renovating the Abbey, including its walled garden, grounds and lake so that it can be enjoyed as a leisure, learning and tourism resource both now and in the future by the local and wider community. We are a project partner with the Delapre Abbey Preservation Trust and Northampton Borough Council for the project to restore and open the Abbey to the public.  We are also independent of those organisations and non-party political. Where necessary, we may act as a "critical friend" in the interests of the community.

Congratulations to everyone involved over the years in campaigning to save Delapre Abbey for the community,  for fundraising, for all your volunteering, providing the tea shop, repairing the greenhouses, making the walled garden so beautiful, working with the council to develop the successful Heritage Lottery Fund bid. Thanks to everyone's efforts, the Abbey is now restored for more people to enjoy and a gem in Northampton's heritage is saved.
